Informal Rides

Club: Informal Friday Group with no affiliation
Special Note:this group is not part of Fleet Cycling and does not operate under the insurance scheme provided to CUK Member Groups or CUK Affiliates, consequently, there is no CUK insurance indemnifying the Friday Group ride leaders against negligent action, even if, those ride leaders are ride leaders approved to lead Fleet Cycling rides. As far as we are aware the Friday Group has no insurance.
Level: 1* or 2* – suitable for cyclists with ability to cycle 12 miles
Frequency: weekly
Start time: 9.30 am
Meeting Point: forecourt of 127 Crookham Road, Church Crookham, GU51 5SA
Pace: easy pace of between 8 or 9 mph
Distance: about 10 to 15 miles
Hartley Wintney – the WI building for coffee or tea and a cake
Odiham – the Mall Cafe for coffee or tea and a cake
Froyle – Village Hall for coffee or tea and a cake
When a new rider comes along for their first ride the group usually goes to Odiham and back which is about 12 miles with only slight inclines.
Ride Description: Anyone is welcome on any type of bike and the rides cater for all ages and families. The rides will be mostly on roads but only minor roads and avoiding traffic as much as possible. Instruction about cycling in a group will be given if anyone is not sure about cycling with others.

seven went via the scenic route to Newlyns Farm and on the way back diverted along the canal to visit King John's castle. lovely ride, beautiful weather and the good company. Photo attached but I failed with my photoshop technique to add myself to the photo. need to work out how to do it with the current software. ready for next time ...

18 out today 10 to Kingsley c .m but a puncture at Crondall saw 2 return , the rest went via Bentley , I'm pleased to say the cakes at Kingsley are getting even bigger , the weather warmed up after our break so the ride home (with 4or5 stops to chat and enjoy the warm sunshine and 1 photo shoot ) a very social meet and ride . Can it get any better ?. ...
